The Clean Air Act and Amendments are separate from SARA Title III, but are still covered by ENCO's Environmental Compliance Handbook. As a part of ENCO's comprehensive approach to environmental compliance, ENCO identifies the chemicals that are regulated by the Clean Air Act and Amendments. Using this data, the company can then track products containing those chemicals to determine if it is required to apply for a Clean Air Permit. If it is determined that the facility is required to obtain an operating permit, ENCO's licensed professionals will prepare the permit application and be present during the facility walk-through, which often occurs before the issuance of a permit, to defend the permit and answer any questions that state officials may have concerning the permit application.
When a company has an operating permit, there is often a requirement that the company track their emissions in the form of a rolling 12 month calculation showing their emissions. This calculation involves tracking the products that contain regulated chemicals, determining the chemicals that are lost during a process and the total loss of each chemical, as well as the total loss of various classes of chemicals, such as Hazardous Air Pollutants, (HAP's), Volatile Organic Chemicals (VOC's), and Ozone Depleting Chemicals (ODC's). When ENCO provides air permitting services to its clients, we also address this need and provide a means to the customer that satisfies and simplifies this requirement. Additionally, some states require that facilities that have an operating permit must submit an annual emissions inventory. ENCO commonly provides this service to its clients.
Additionally, some processes involve chemical changes, such as reaction or combustion. The determination of the emissions from processes like these could be a daunting task for some consulting firms - but not for ENCO Environmental's Licensed Professional Engineer. ENCO can easily evaluate the most complex of processes, determine the emissions, and provide defensible documentation and a methodology to assure the client of compliance with the regulations.
